It’s ALL Debatable (Mars in Gemini Special)
Ep 37 It’s ALL Debatable (Mars in Gemini Special)
In today's episode Cory describes Mars' prolonged stay in Gemini, and what that means for the rest of the year, and for people with mutable placements (Gemini, Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius). Mars, the planet that represents how we go after the things we want, what turns us on, and the ways we go about asserting ourselves is typically in a sign for around 6 weeks. Mars will be in the sign of Gemini for around 7 months, due to its retrograde pattern.
Gemini is our ability to communicate, our ability to question and move. Gemini is dexterous, and adaptable. With Mars here you can expect to see lots of movement, hyper mobility, multi-tasking and maybe words as weapons. Time may seem to fly by faster, or you may find yourself (or those around you) feeling impatient or feeling the pull to constantly shift and adjust. Collectively this may look like even faster news cycles, individuals asserting their opinions, and a generally more “noisy” time.
The big astro weather for this week includes the Virgo New moon, square Mars in Gemini. This Virgo new moon is a time to think critically and practically about implementing improvements. Virgo is willing to do the hard work and sacrifice to get to where it wants to be, and while Mars may add a dynamic layer to this lunation, Mars can also assist Virgo in accomplishing its goal. This week also includes: Venus opposite Saturn and Mars sextile Jupiter.
During the second half of the show, Cory meets with author, journalist and editor Jen Doll. Jen Doll is the author of the young adult books That's Debatable and Unclaimed Baggage, a California Young Reader Medal nominee for ’22-’23, as well as the memoir Save the Date: The Occasional Mortifications of a Serial Wedding Guest, for adults. She's a freelance journalist and editor who's written for publications ranging from the New York Times to the Atlantic, Fortune, the L.A. Times, Mashable, New York, Publishers Weekly, the Village Voice, and more.
Jen and Cory, both Mars in Gemini natives, share not only a little about what it's like to have natal Mars in Gemini, but they also talk about mental flexibility, competitiveness, and the power of questioning; all themes represented in the book and in the current astrology.
Jen has a new book, That’s Debatable, coming out soon. You can find more information on her website: jendoll.com
